Local fishermen find it easier to dock their boats and deliver catch to markets with the help of the Tumbao Boat Landing on the shore of Buluan Lake in Maguindanao. The landing facility was completed by the Tumbao municipal government in partnership with the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), through its Growth with Equity in Mindanao (GEM) Program under the oversight of the Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA). USAID has built more than 1,450 community infrastructure projects in Mindanao’s conflict-affected areas, including water systems, solar dryers, footbridges, and trading centers, to help generate economic activity and support the gains of peace. ###
